In the virtual world it becomes very difficult to trust people and is also easy to befool people. Scams in dating online are increasing because there are many Free Online Dating sites which are allowing anyone to register. Consider the following situation in which a person was scammed. You register on a website and a scammer sends you a request from a good looking profile. He presents himself as a working professional from UK but currently posted in Nigeria. He knows that you are looking for a partner and he therefore portrays himself as perfect for you.
He gives you all the time in the world and even spends hours online just to talk to you. You start trusting him. One day he suddenly messages you that his mother has been hospitalized and his payments are stuck. Because you have started trusting him, you gave the money. When the next day you try to contact him again through the Dating Sites, you never got to see or hear him. He ran away with your money.
